Gallen Pierce-Lackey
I’m an eco-friendly abstract artist driven by a desire to make the world a little better through work that connects with people and brings a sense of hope. “Believe in a better world” has been a theme across much of my life, and my work is an extension of that.
Art found me as an adult. Creating pulled me through some of the hardest seasons of my life, and it’s been a constant ever since. It’s something I feel compelled to do, and I still find a lot of joy in watching each piece come to life.
Art can produce a lot of waste, so I’ve built my process around reducing mine:
- I recycle and reuse as much as possible
- I’ve moved away from disposable brushes in favor of repurposed tools like scrapers and rollers
- I work almost exclusively on used, old, or discarded surfaces
I’m committed to continuing to evolve this process and becoming more eco-friendly over time. We’ve only got one planet... hopefully my work can make it a little better.
I’m humbled by every sale. I don’t take it for granted that I get to call myself an artist.
