"I paint from the greatest source there is, nature! Endless inspiration for vibrant color, expressive brush stroke and striking compositions are always discovered within our beautiful abundant world."
------------------------------------------------------------------- Carolyn started to draw from "the back of a horse", as a young child she would spend hours sitting on the back of her families draft mare "Bell" sketching the other animals in the fields. From then on she did everything possible to learn more about art, constantly drawing and painting. Carolyn received her BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) degree from the University of Michigan with a major in painting (oil) and minors in watercolor, and art history. She has been painting and exploring many aspects of art ever since, but she always comes back to oil landscapes, both plein air (direct outdoor) and studio compositions or a combination of both. She also loves to paint flowers and still life as well as abstracted explorations of natural phenomena such as water, rocks and clouds. Constantly exploring she presents many of her nature themes in both traditional landscape styles and the more unusual and abstracted style she calls "visionscapes". These are combinations of geometric design and nature. In the peace of nature she often finds a hidden symbolism that takes on a life of its own. She has chosen the New Zone Gallery to represent her experimental and visionary work. |
