About the Artist |
"My early acrylic and watercolor paintings had saturated color and were fantasy/surrealistic and primarily portraits. I have been influenced by Picasso, O’Keefe, Magritte and Thomas Hart Benton to name a few. In 2002, I took a class in encaustic wax painting techniques at the Sitka Art Center on the coast in Oregon. I fell in love with the seductiveness of beeswax, its sweet smell and mixed media ease. I also explore 2-D and 3-D art combining a variety of media. My subject matter, medium, materials and color palette are ever evolving.

"My life’s journey will influence my work and where my intuition leads me, I will follow. Currently, I am using images relating to nesting and transition, as well as the world of nature – anything that suggests change, direction and growth – the “highway of life.”
