About the Artist |
"I’m doing my part to keep 'snail mail' alive with quirky, fun-spirited greeting cards that inspire as many smiles as possible. I smile when I make them, and smiles happen when they are viewed, received and shared. I believe there is a need for highly unusual and unique greeting cards that are NOT the typical kind Hallmark would stamp their name on. I’m sure they could not mass-produce or afford to create original, one-of-a-kind cards that include unusual, 3-D dimensional qualities, or use the types of vintage or obscure items that I try to incorporate into my work.
"I see possibilities in just about everything that is smallish and less than a quarter-inch thick, and therefore have amassed an abundant inventory of supplies inherited from my mother and collected in my lifetime. More is more and I’m constantly adding to my stash of unconventional, hand-created background papers. I do not duplicate materials or finished projects; instead I prefer to use what I have, make or find, recycling and re-purposing and not adding any more to the landfill. I also hope that by elevating greeting cards to small works of art, they are kept, enjoyed, displayed and even framed. "Being a part of the New Zone Gallery opens up many connective possibilities and artistic growth opportunities. I recently retired from a forty-year career as a singer-songwriter, performing artist and |
sole owner of Send-A-Song Singing Telegrams. Luckily, over the past few years, the transition has been easy because I prefer to spend more time with my muse in ARTZADONI, my multi-media, rubberstamp home art studio. I still want to meet new people, be inspired by them and continue my quest for smiles."
