Meridith McClure
About the Artist
I draw on my background in biology and ecology to craft hand-embroidered art. My specialty is embroidering native plants and birds and using botanical motifs to depict ecological relationships.
I started to embroider while I was doing field work in New Mexico in 2016. As I was learning the flora and fauna of the region, I loved trying to embroider botanically-correct plants.
After making a few gifts for family and friends, I made an Instagram for my art, started an online shop, and began doing custom pieces and pop-up markets. Since moving to Oregon in 2018, I've shifted my focus to embroidering the native plants and birds where I live and work.
