About the Artist
"Although I was born in southern California, I’m a Pacific Northwesterner at heart. I spent the latter half of my childhood and went to college in the Puget Sound region of Washington state (Bachelor of Arts in Education from Western Washington University) before moving to Eugene with my husband, a doctoral candidate in physics at UO. I initiated a career

change/life makeover about three years ago and took up painting as a therapeutic activity to reduce anxiety. I didn’t expect to be any good at it, nor for it to become such a passion! I have painted numerous custom pet portraits, including my own three beloved cats and many of my friends’ and co-workers’ pets. In the past year I’ve become interested in landscape painting, and paint mainly from my own photographs. One of my landscapes, ‘Waldo Lake’, sold at Greenhill Humane Society’s Evening for Animals art auction fundraiser this year. So far I have focused mainly on realistic paintings using acrylic paints, but I’m beginning to experiment with watercolors and impressionism, my favorite artistic style."
