Tiana Buckner
Artist Statement
I have a fluid style that adjusts based on the medium and inspiration behind individual projects. My recent works have a strong use of line, color, contrast, texture, and peculiar subject-matter; which range from clean and sophisticated to weird and unique. My inspiration is driven by creating pieces that pull you to another world and are displayed in a way that the viewer can imbue some relation or message in.
I love everything about art and use a variety of mediums to create my works. I have worked on illustrations, paintings, prints, sculpture, crochet/knit creations, digital art, jewelry, and much more. Finding new techniques and learning to integrate it to my style and works is a big satisfaction for me as well.
Some galleries and shows my works have been displayed at include: the Duncan Simmons Center art show (2015 - 2016), the “Unbound” exhibition in the Leslie Powell Gallery (2018), and my piece “The Longest Kiss” was accepted into the Del Mar 52nd Annual Drawing & Small Sculpture show (2018).
A little regarding my background: I grew up in a small town in Northern California and have spent a lot of my life moving around the U.S - Oklahoma, North Carolina, Hawaii. I love the Northwest though and sought to come back to the trees, mountains, and friendly open people!
